Elton John to Perform, AEGs Jay Marciano to Be Honored at City of Hope Gala

City of Hope, one of the largest cancer research and treatment organizations in the United States, announced that its Spirit of Life Gala will include a headlining performance by Elton John.

Taking place on Oct. 22, 2024, at the historic Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in downtown Los Angeles, the 51st annual affair will present Jay Marciano, chairman and CEO of AEG Presents, with City of Hope’s prestigious Spirit of Life Award. Marciano — who leads the company that produced John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour as well as Taylor Swift’s “Eras tour — will be recognized for his philanthropic and humanitarian efforts.

And if that weren’t enough, having David Blaine, Evan Funke, and Fred Armisen contribute to such an extraordinary evening is beyond my wildest dreams,” Marciano added.

In its 50-plus year history, MFEI raised over $150 million to benefit City of Hope research and care programs.

Bertell, chief philanthropy officer at City of Hope. “Jay’s support will amplify awareness, raise crucial funds, and inspire hope for millions of cancer patients and their families. It’s not just about entertainment; it’s about saving lives through the power of philanthropy,” Bertell continued.

MFEI’s Spirit of Life Gala will conclude a year-long fundraising initiative which will also include auctions and a dinner series to benefit City of Hope.
