Senate President Never Referred To Shettima As APC Presidential Candidate

A former Minister of Aviation and spokesperson of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Femi Fani-Kayode has taken to Twitter to dispel reports that the party’s vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, was addressed as the flag bearer of the party.

Naija News gathered that Fani-Kayode has described reports making the round on social media about how the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan referred to Shettima as APC presidential candidate as a fabricated lie.

The APC chieftain had accused the opposition of spreading such report, saying he wondered how desperate their social media trolls can get.

Fani-Kayode said Lawan never described Shettima as APC’s presidential candidate during a recent meeting as rumoured.

His reaction follows a a tweet that surfaced on Twitter, where the Senate President was claimed to have said “Met yesterday with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress from Yobe State, including the presidential candidate of our great party, Senator Kashim Shettima.”

The comment was what aroused a counter from Fani-Kayode, who noted that the fabrication of the report is a big lie.
